Vi Dang, MD Agreed to Pay $132,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Receiving Remuneration in Exchange for Ordering Durable Medical Equipment and Prescribing Medications

On February 3, 2023, Vi Dang, M.D. (Dr. Dang), Dallas, Texas, entered into a $132,078 settlement agreement with OIG. The settlement agreement resolves allegations that Dr. Dang solicited and received remuneration, in the form of monetary payments related to purported telemedicine consultations, from various telemedicine and staffing companies in exchange for ordering and prescribing medically unnecessary durable medical equipment and prescription medications for Medicare beneficiaries with whom he had no physician-patient relationship and never examined.
