Vassar Brother Medical Center Agreed to Pay $432,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Duplicate Services
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Vassar Brothers Hospital d/b/a Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC), New York, agreed to pay $432,815.77 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that VBMC submitted duplicate claims for the antibiotic daptomycin, whereby leftover amounts of daptomycin, which had already been billed as waste for one patient, were administered to another patient and billed for again.
