University of California Irvine Health Agreed to Pay $482,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Improperly Billed Critical Care Services
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Regents of the University of California, on behalf of the University of California Irvine Health (UC Irvine Health), Orange, California, agreed to pay $482,557.07 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that UC Irvine Health submitted claims to Federal health care programs for critical care services using CPT codes 99291 and 99292 that did not qualify as critical care services.
