After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Tulsa Bone & Joint Associates, P.C. (Tulsa Bone), Tulsa, Oklahoma, agreed to pay $769,742.40 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Tulsa Bone billed Federal health care programs for medically unnecessary services provided by a physician related to total knee replacement surgeries including hamstring lengthening, malunion and nonunion repair of the femur, and malunion and nonunion of the tibia or fibula.
