Three Generic Pharmaceutical Companies Agree to Pay Almost Half a Billion Dollars to Resolve Alleged False Claims Act Liability, Bringing Total Payments for Price-Fixing to Nearly $900 Million

PHILADELPHIA – Acting U.S. Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams announced that three generic pharmaceutical manufacturers, Taro Pharmaceuticals U.S.A., Inc., Sandoz Inc., and Apotex Corporation, have agreed to pay a total of $447.2 million to resolve alleged violations of the False Claims Act arising from conspiracies to fix the price of various generic drugs.
