The Little Clinic and Affiliated Entities Agreed to Pay $89,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Telehealth Services Not Provided as Claimed
After they self-disclosed conduct to OIG, The Little Clinic, LLC, The Little Clinic of Arizona LLC, Kiosk Medicine Kentucky LLC, TLC of Georgia LLC, Little Clinic of IN LLC, Little Clinic of Kansas LLC, The Little Clinic of Colorado LLC, The Little Clinic of Ohio LLC, The Little Clinic of Tennessee LLC, and Little Clinic of Virginia LLC (collectively, “Little Clinic”), agreed to pay $89,955 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Little Clinic submitted false claims to Medicare and Medicaid for telehealth services using CPT Codes 99202-99204 or 99212-99214 with a modifier 95 appended. These services were not covered, because they were not provided as claimed. Specifically, despite making a claim using modifier 95, the telehealth services did not use the requisite “interactive telecommunications” systems as required by regulation.
