Texas Neurodiagnostic Associates Agreed to Pay $617,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Medically Unnecessary Services

On May 24, 2023, Texas Neurodiagnostic Associates, Inc. (TNA), Houston, Texas, entered into a $617,254.84 settlement agreement with OIG. The settlement agreement resolves allegations that TNA submitted claims to Medicare for medically unnecessary (1) autonomic nervous system tests, (2) nerve conduction studies, (3) electromyography examinations, and (4) repetitive nerve stimulation tests. OIG's Office of Audit Services and Office of Counsel to the Inspector General, represented by Senior Counsels Gregory Becker and Geoffrey Hymans, collaborated to achieve this settlement.
