Tampa General Hospital Agreed to Pay $254,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services Provided by Unlicensed Individuals

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Florida Health Sciences Center, Inc. d/b/a Tampa General Hospital (TGH), Florida, agreed to pay $254,085.27 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that TGH submitted claims for services provided by four unlicensed nurses. Single damages were calculated as the full salary and benefits paid to the nurses during the period they worked without a valid license.
