Southern Illinois Healthcare Agreed to Pay $208,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Providing Remuneration to Physicians in the Form of Patient Referrals
After they self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Southern Illinois Healthcare; Southern Illinois Medical Services NFP, d/b/a SIH Medical Group; and Southern Illinois Hospital Services d/b/a Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Herring Hospital, and St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, (collectively, "SIH"), Illinois, agreed to pay $208,306.50 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law provisions applicable to kickbacks. OIG alleged that SIH provided remuneration to two physicians in the form of patient referrals from SIH Medical Group.
