Princeton Spine and Joint Center Agreed to Pay $166,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Medically Unnecessary Autonomic Nervous System Testing

On March 16, 2021, Princeton Spine and Joint Center, LLC (PSJC), Princeton, New Jersey, entered into a $166,423.84 settlement agreement with OIG. The settlement agreement resolves allegations that PSJC submitted claims to Medicare for medically unnecessary autonomic nervous system testing performed on the same date-of-service for the same patient as nerve conduction studies. OIG's Office of Audit Services and Office of Counsel to the Inspector General, represented by Senior Counsels Gregory Becker and Geoffrey Hymans, collaborated to achieve this resolution.
