Preferred Family Healthcare Agreed to Pay $45,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting False Claims to ACF and SAMHSA Grants

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Preferred Family Healthcare, Inc. (PFH), Kirksville, Missouri, entered into a $45,101.80 settlement agreement with OIG. The settlement agreement resolves allegations that PFH presented false claims to ACF award RPG 90CU0126, and SAMHSA award PPW T1084761. Specifically, PFH disclosed that a former employee stole funds from the ACF and SAMHSA awards for unallowable personal expenses, airfare for vacations for herself and family members and to pay the employee’s rent.
