After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Pettis County Ambulance District (Pettis), Missouri, agreed to pay $690,833.37 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Pettis submitted false claims to Federal health care programs for emergency transports, which were in fact non-emergency hospital-to-hospital transports.
