Perry Rudich, MD and Perry Rudich, MD SC Agreed to Pay $353,000 and Be Excluded for 10 Years for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Receiving Remuneration in Exchange for Allowing IDTFs to Use His NPI to Submit Claims

On December 15, 2023, Perry Rudich, MD and Perry Rudich, M.D., S.C. (collectively, “Dr. Rudich”), Northbrook, Illinois, entered into a settlement agreement with OIG in which they agreed to pay $353,578.05 and be excluded from participation in all Federal health care programs for 10 years. The settlement agreement resolves allegations that Dr. Rudich solicited and received improper remuneration from various independent diagnostic testing facilities (IDTFs) in exchange for the IDTFs and related entities submitting claims to Medicare for diagnostic imaging services using Perry Rudich, M.D.’s NPI as the rendering provider, for services he did not perform and for which the Medicare program paid. Senior Counsel Joan Matlack, with the assistance of Program Analyst Mariel Filtz, represented OIG.
