Pathline Emerge Agreed to Pay $310,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Paying Remuneration to Physicians in the Form of Free and Below Fair Market Value Services

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Histopathology Services LLC d/b/a Pathline Emerge (Pathline), New Jersey, agreed to pay $310,978.11 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law provisions applicable to physician self-referrals and kickbacks. OIG alleged that Pathline paid remuneration to physician offices in the form of free medical specimen collection supplies.
