Owner of a Pennsylvania Durable Medical Equipment Supplier and Her Spouse Agree to Voluntary Exclusions
On July 29, 2015, the owner of a durable medical equipment (DME) supplier and the owner's spouse, who was also an employee, agreed to be excluded from participation in Federal health care programs. The owner agreed to be excluded for a period of fifteen years and the owner's spouse agreed to be excluded for a period of thirty years under 42 U.S.C. § 1320a-7(b)(7). OIG's investigation revealed that the DME company and its owner furnished supplies reimbursed by Federal health care programs through the owner's spouse while the spouse was excluded from participating in Federal health care programs.
