Northwest Community Home Healthcare Agreed to Pay $95,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Skilled Nursing Home Health Services that Were Upcoded or Should Not Have Been Billed

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Northwest Community Hospital d/b/a Northwest Community Home Healthcare (Northwest), Illinois, agreed to pay $95,667.35 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Northwest submitted false claims to Medicare and Medicaid for skilled nursing home health services purportedly provided by a former employee that should have been billed at lower rates or not billed at all.
