Mother-Daughter Duo Sentenced to Prison Time and Restitution in $6.6 Million Medicaid Fraud and Child Identity Theft Scheme
Silver City, NM – A Sixth Judicial District Court judge today sentenced Susanne Kee and her daughter, Bethanne Kee, to four and a half years each in prison for orchestrating a massive Medicaid fraud and child identity theft scheme through a Silver City afterschool program. The pair stole children’s identities, fabricated psychological diagnoses, and fraudulently billed Medicaid for services that were never provided. The prison time comes in addition to the $6.6 million in restitution that was secured by the New Mexico Department of Justice’s (NMDOJ) Medicaid Fraud and Elder Abuse Bureau in April.
