MioTech Orthopedic Group and DJO Agreed to Pay $1.2 Million for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law for Submitting Claims for Services Not Provided as Claimed

After they self-disclosed conduct to OIG, MioTech Orthopedic Group, Michigan and DJO LLC, California, (collectively, "MioTech and DJO") agreed to pay $1,247,753.50 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that employees and representatives of MioTech and DJO altered or falsified supporting documentation for durable medical equipment claims and submitted those claims for payment.
