Medical College of Wisconsin Agreed to Pay $2.2 Million for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Failing to Perform and Document Medical Direction Steps

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc. (MCW), Wisconsin, agreed to pay $2,239,572.08 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that MCW submitted false anesthesia claims to Federal health care programs where physicians failed to perform and document the seven steps of medical direction as required.
