Med One Mobile and Gregory Wireman Agreed to Be Excluded for 5 Years for Submitting Claims for Medically Unnecessary Ambulance Transportation Services

On February 14, 2025, in connection with resolution of their False Claims Act liability, Med One Mobile, LLC (Med One) and Gregory Wireman (Wireman), Knox, Indiana, agreed to be excluded under 42 U.S.C. 1320a-7(b)(7) for five years. The investigation revealed and OIG alleged that Med One and Wireman submitted or caused the submission of claims for ambulance transportation services to the Medicare program for Basic Life Support services using CPT codes A0428 and A0429 and Advanced Life Support using CPT codes A0426 and A0427, along with accompanying mileage using CPT code A0425, for patients being taken from a hospital to a residence, domiciliary, skilled nursing facility, or diagnostic center when ambulance transportation services were not medically necessary.
