Laredo Medical Center Agreed to Pay $20,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services Provided by an Unlicensed Individual

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Laredo Texas Hospital Company LP, d/b/a Laredo Medical Center (LMC), Texas, agreed to pay $20,000 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that TMC submitted claims for services provided by an unlicensed nurse. Single damages were calculated as the full salary and benefits paid to the nurses during the period they worked without a valid license.
