After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County (Stroger), Chicago, Illinois, agreed to pay $456,401.07 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Stroger employed two individuals that it knew or should have known were excluded from participation in the Illinois state Medicaid program and that no Illinois state Medicaid program payments could be made for items or services the individuals furnished.
