Jeffrey Vegh Agreed to Be Excluded for 11 Years for Making Misrepresentations to Obtain an Operating Certificate and Causing the Submission of False Claims for Worthless Services

On February 27, 2023, in connection with the resolution of his False Claims Act liability, Jeffrey Vegh (Vegh), New York, agreed to be excluded under 42 U.S.C. 1320a-7(b)(7) and 42 U.S.C. 1320a-7(b)(6)(B) for 11 years. The investigation revealed and OIG alleged that Vegh submitted or caused the submission of false claims to Medicaid: (1) when he made misrepresentations in 2014 to obtain a license from the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) to operate Saratoga Center for Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Care (Saratoga Center), located at 149 Ballston Ave., Ballston Spa, New York; (2) when he surrendered control of Saratoga Center to unlicensed operators without notifying NYSDOH; and (3) as a result of worthless services provided to residents of Saratoga Center from February 2017 through the facility’s closure in February 2021.
