Irina Shlafshteyn Agreed to Be Excluded for 10 Years for Medically Unnecessary Prescriptions

On September 30, 2021, in connection with the resolution of her False Claims Act liability, Irina Shlafshteyn (Shlafshteyn), Saint Louis, Missouri, agreed to be excluded under 42 U.S.C. 1320a-7(b)(7) for 10 years. The investigation revealed and OIG alleged that Shlafshteyn, as the former owner and managing employee of Olive Street Pharmacy, LLC, unlawfully distributed and/or dispensed controlled substances by acting outside of the usual course of professional practice in dispensing controlled substances pursuant to prescriptions that had no legitimate medical purpose.
