Four Miami-Dade County Residents Arrested for More Than $196,000 in Medicaid Fraud

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-Attorney General Pam Bondi's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and the Miami-Dade Police Department today arrested Luz Alvelo, 40, Maria Fernanda-Flores, 24, Manuel Otero, 42, and Yaniel Leal, 36, for more than $196,000 in Medicaid fraud. The defendants allegedly paid Medicaid recipients kickbacks of $20 per day to receive psychosocial rehabilitative services and then submitted falsified claims for targeted case management services that were not rendered to Medicaid recipients.
