Florida Man Arrested for Targeting the Vulnerable to Defraud Medicaid
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-Attorney General Pam Bondi's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit today arrested Patrick Perez James, Miramar resident and owner of United Support Agency Corp, for defrauding the Medicaid program out of more than $24,000. While working as a direct provider of respite care services, James allegedly fraudulently billed Medicaid for services never rendered. Respite care services provide temporary relief to families caring for a disabled child or adult. According to the investigation, James also asked recipients' relatives and others to state he provided the services when, in fact, he did not.
