Fairwinds Treatment Center Agreed to Pay $414,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services it was Not Licensed to Provide

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Fairwinds Properties, Inc. d/b/a Fairwinds Treatment Center (Fairwinds), Clearwater, Florida, agreed to pay $414,185.55 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Fairwinds submitted claims to TRICARE for adolescent mental health services that were not provided as claimed because the facility was not licensed to provide those services.
