After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Compassion Hospice, Inc. (Compassion), Beaumont, Texas, agreed to pay $430,752 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Compassion paid remuneration to two physicians in the form of Medical Director compensation that took into account the physicians’ volume or value of referrals.
