Cancer Center Oncology Medical Group Agreed to Pay $429,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Overbilling for Drugs

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Cancer Center Oncology Medical Group, Inc. – East County (CCOMG), La Mesa, California, agreed to pay $429,623.40 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that CCOMG submitted false claims to Federal health care programs using a “JW” modifier applicable to discarded drugs, when these drugs were administered to a patient.
