Beartooth Billings Clinic Agreed to Pay $13,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services that Lacked Proper Supervision
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Memorial Hospital Association, d/b/a Beartooth Billings Clinic (Beartooth Billings), Montana, agreed to pay $13,110.10 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Beartooth Billings submitted claims to Medicare and Medicaid for Intensive Behavioral Therapy for Obesity provided by a dietician at the full physician rate as "incident to" the services of a physician, when the services did not satisfy certain "incident to" billing requirements.
