Bay County Emergency Medical Services Agreed to Pay $869,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Improper Ambulance Transportation Services
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Bay County Emergency Medical Services (Bay County EMS), Florida, agreed to pay $869,491.50 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Bay County EMS submitted claims to Medicare for advanced life support ambulance services that were not medically reasonable or necessary and/or did not meet Medicare coverage criteria.
