AU Medical Center Agreed to Pay $528,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Employing an Individual Excluded from South Carolina Medicaid and an Individual Excluded from Participation in Federal Health Care Programs

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, AU Medical Center, Inc. (AUMC), Georgia, agreed to pay $528,350.58 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that AUMC employed an individual that it knew or should have known was excluded from participation in South Carolina Medicaid. OIG also alleged that AUMC employed a second individual that it knew or should have known was excluded from participation in Federal health care programs.
