Attorney General Rayfield Announces Multiple Medicaid Fraud Enforcement Actions

Attorney General Dan Rayfield announced a series of recent enforcement actions by Oregon DOJ’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) including two convictions of owners of non-emergency transportation companies and an indictment against a behavioral health care company and its owner. The cases, spanning grand jury indictments, guilty pleas and sentencings, involve allegations of billing for services that were never provided, stealing the identities of Medicaid recipients and health care practitioners, and submitting claims for transportation services provided to people who had died.
