Attorney General Raúl Torrez Recovers Nearly $1 Million from Las Cruces Equine Therapist After Filing Fraudulent Medicaid Claims

Las Cruces, NM – Today, a Third Judicial District Court judge accepted a plea agreement secured by Attorney General Raúl Torrez against Nancy Marshall, a therapist who owned Equine Assisted Programs of Southern New Mexico (EAP) in Las Cruces. Marshall pled guilty to two counts each of Medicaid Fraud, Falsification of Documents and Theft of Identity after stealing the identities of staff and patients – including children – fabricating false counseling diagnoses and records, and fraudulently billing New Mexico’s Medicaid program $970,108.31.
