Alpine Eye Care Agreed to Pay $23,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Medically Unnecessary Services

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Jeffrey K. Chaulk, M.D., P.C. d/b/a Alpine Eye Care (AEC), Michigan, agreed to pay $23,601.11 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that AEC submitted claims to Medicare for services that were medically unnecessary or improperly coded.
