NEW YORK-Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced the indictment and arraignment of two nurses, Funmilola Taiwo, 34, of Far Rockaway and Esohe Agbonkpolor, 39, of Arverne, for allegedly neglecting a disabled resident for over twenty minutes while that resident bled from a wound to his head. Facility-maintained cameras captured surveillance of the two nurses actively avoiding the resident as he lay writhing on the floor. A Grand Jury sitting in Queens County indicted both nurses on charges of Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent or Physically Disabled Person in the First Degree, a class E felony, and Wilful Violation of Health Laws, a misdemeanor. The Grand Jury also indicted defendant Taiwo for Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree, a class E felony, in connection with an alleged attempt to conceal her other crimes.
