Advanced Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center Agreed to Pay $50,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Paying Remuneration in the Form of Office Supplies, Party Expenses, and Specimen Collection Expenses

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Advanced Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center, LLC (ADSCC), Ohio, agreed to pay $50,000 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law including provisions applicable to kickbacks. OIG alleged that ADSCC, and its physician owners, offered and provided remuneration to a dermatology practice in the form of: (1) a printer cartridge; (2) payment for holiday party expenses; (3) payment to three vendors for holiday party expenses; and (4) payment to a dermatology practice employee to prepare, pack, and complete related paperwork for specimens to be delivered to ADSCC.
