Findings of Whistleblower Retaliation by Administration for Children and Families Subcontractor Management
The Special Investigations Branch of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Inspector General (OIG), conducted an investigation in response to allegations brought by a complainant who was an employee of a subcontractor for Wyoming National Logistics, LLC, an Administration for Children and Families subcontractor. The complainant alleged that they were terminated after reporting an electrical safety hazard that resulted in the complainant being electrocuted and posed a safety risk to children housed at the emergency intake site where the complainant was employed. OIG investigators found that the complainant was terminated in retaliation for making the protected disclosure. The OIG investigative report was provided to the Secretary of HHS and included recommendations for appropriate action.
