The HHS OIG has authority to exclude individuals and entities from participation in Federal health care programs. An exclusion means these individuals and entities will no longer get paid through Federal healthcare programs. Employers must check that they are not employing an excluded individual because they may face a financial penalty. This video also covers the exclusions database, and possible reinstatement.
