Eskenazi Health and Midtown Community Mental Health Clinic Agreed to Pay $901,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Services that Failed to Meet Provider-Based Requirements

After they self-disclosed conduct to OIG, The Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County d/b/a Eskenazi Health (Eskenazi) and Midtown Community Mental Health Clinic (Midtown), Indiana, agreed to pay $901,724.01 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that Eskenazi and Midtown submitted outpatient hospital claims to Medicare and Medicaid at hospital rates for services provided at off-site locations which failed to meet applicable provider-based requirements.
