After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Troy Gastroenterology, P.C. (Troy Gastro), Michigan, agreed to pay $261,786.72 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law including provisions applicable to kickbacks. OIG alleged that Troy Gastro received remuneration from a sports medicine practice and a surgery center in the form of an ownership interest in the surgery center and reimbursement of related legal fees.
