Triangle Health Alliance, LLC Agreed to Pay $177,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Providing Remuneration to Other Health Care Providers in the Form of Free and Below Fair Market Value Services
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Triangle Health Alliance, LLC (Triangle), Maryland, agreed to pay $177,864 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law provisions applicable to kickbacks. OIG alleged that Triangle: (1) provided a surgery practice pre-authorization services for surgical procedures that were inconsistent with the terms of its contractual arrangement and below fair market value; (2) provided a family practice diagnosis and current procedural terminology coding services for professional claims that were inconsistent with the terms of its contractual arrangement and below fair market value; (3) provided a family practice free diagnosis and coding services for claims related to the practice's services to a skilled nursing facility; and (4) provided a primary care provider free diagnosis coding services for claims related to the provider's referrals to a hospital.
