Kentucky Optometrist Agrees to Five-Year Exclusion
On April 1, 2016, Philip Robinson a Kentucky optometrist agreed to be excluded from participating in Federal health care programs for a period of five years under 42 U.S.C. § 1320a-7(b)(7). OIG alleged that Robinson submitted or caused to be submitted claims to Medicare using CPT codes 92012, 92014, 99308, and 99309 for services provided to beneficiaries residing in nursing facilities and skilled nursing facilities that were either medically unnecessary or did not satisfy the requirements of the respective CPT code.
