Baptist Health Services Agreed to Pay $1.4 Million for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Using False Records in Support of Claims for Office Visits
After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, Baptist Health Services (Baptist), Arkansas, agreed to pay $1,470,987 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that a Baptist physician-employee falsified records material to claims used for physician office visits. OIG further contends that a Baptist nurse-employee improperly used Electronic Health Records credentials to falsely complete, sign, and attest to records of the physician’s office visits, material to claims submitted for patient for items and services furnished under Federal health care programs.
