Attorney General Ellison Charges Five With Stealing More Than $10M In Two Medicaid Fraud Prosecutions

(SAINT PAUL) — Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced today that the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) of the Attorney General’s Office has charged five people in two separate, ongoing investigations with defrauding the Medicaid program out of more than $10 million. Three charged with more than $9M in fraud as part of Office’s largest-ever prosecution; two others charged with $1.4M in fraud in connection with separate, multi-year prosecution. Allegations include false documentation, overbilling, billing for services not provided, kickbacks, and diversion of funds for personal uses, among others
