We are committed to keeping the public informed about our evolving COVID-19 work. We leverage outreach methods to promote transparency of our activities and outcomes that can benefit the public during the pandemic. This page provides examples.
Early in the pandemic, OIG issued a Fraud Alert warning the public about fraud schemes related to COVID-19. We regularly update the alert with the latest information about scams that exploit the pandemic, aiming to defraud Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries and the Federal health care programs that serve them. This alert also provides general information on how to protect oneself and the community against bad actors.

Principal Deputy Inspector General (PDIG) Christi Grimm testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Reform on May 26, 2020. The briefing was titled, "The Administration's Coronavirus Response."
