Overview
Many Tribal programs receive funds from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Have you ever wondered if you are meeting all the requirements to protect that revenue stream and the beneficiaries it is intended to serve? If so, attend our upcoming training, designed to give you the information you need. You will:
- understand the importance of internal controls and single audits;
- identify key elements for ensuring quality of care;
- learn about compliance programs and other tools for combating fraud, waste, and abuse; and
- understand the role of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and how it works with the Indian Health Service (IHS) and Tribes.
Who Should Attend
This training program is designed for officials and employees of IHS and of any Tribal organization receiving HHS funds whose responsibilities include:
- serving beneficiaries,
- protecting program funds,
- ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and laws,
- submitting claims to the Federal Government,
- internal auditing and/or maintaining documentation, and/or
- overseeing the quality of services provided to beneficiaries.

Directions
From Interstate 35: Take the East 2nd Street/U.S. 77 South exit 141. Turn onto East 2nd Street westbound. Follow East 2nd Street for approximately 2.5 miles to Garland Godfrey Drive, and turn right at stoplight. (See further instructions below.)
From Interstate 235/Broadway/UC77: Follow U.S. 77/Broadway into Edmond northbound to East 2nd Street. Turn onto East 2nd Street eastbound for approximately 0.5 miles to Garland Godfrey Drive and turn left at stoplight.
Facing north, the building directly in front of you is the Nigh University Center. Entering through the main front doors, you are on the 2nd floor of the building.
Parking
OIG will provide a coupon code during the training conference. Follow signs to the Visitor Parking Lot #10, located directly to the east of the building.

The Nigh University Center is about 20 minutes from downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where you will find many hotels and restaurants.
