The recognition celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of women across the nation, highlighting their contributions to their organizations and efforts in broadly improving care delivery, promoting health equity, shaping policy, and advancing gender equality in health care leadership. This annual award honors leaders from all sectors of the health care industry. IG Grimm is recognized for her contributions to health care oversight spanning more than two decades of federal service.

Appointed as Inspector General in 2022, IG Grimm has led the agency in continually addressing the most consequential issues facing HHS programs and the people who rely on their services, including the access, quality, and safety of care; the protection of public health; and the prevention of fraud, waste, and abuse that harms people and diverts critical financial resources.

IG Grimm is a foremost expert in program integrity issues related to HHS, with particular emphasis on care provided in home and community-based settings, hospitals, nursing homes, and facilities serving unaccompanied children under HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement. She regularly engages with government partners, national professional associations, and the private sector to promote accessibility and understanding of HHS-OIG’s work, value, and impact. Beyond her role in overseeing HHS-OIG, she represents HHS-OIG on the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee (PRAC) and leads PRAC’s Health Care Subgroup. IG Grimm also serves as vice president for the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity & Efficiency’s Inspection & Evaluation Committee.

HHS-OIG is proud to announce this recognition of IG Grimm and of her commitment to supporting effective oversight and improved outcomes for HHS programs and their enrollees.
