Review of Colorado Medicaid Payments for Home Health Agency Claims Paid to Personal Assistance Services of Colorado
We estimated that the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (the State agency) improperly claimed $71,000 ($42,000 Federal share) for home health agency (HHA) services provided by Personal Assistance Services of Colorado that did not comply with Federal and State requirements. Although the State agency periodically performed post-payment reviews to ensure that payments were appropriate for HHA claims, these reviews did not always detect the overpayments.
