Texas Did Not Always Comply With Federal and State Requirements Regarding the Medicare Buy-In Program
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (the State agency) did not always claim Medicare premiums it paid on behalf of eligible individuals enrolled in the Medicaid buy-in program in accordance with Federal and State requirements. In addition, the State agency did not periodically review the documentation for individuals whom CMS automatically enrolls in the buy-in program to confirm their continued eligibility.
